5 Days/4 Nights
Rome midnight dream: the Coliseum under the moon
Summer is coming and at this time of the year you can enjoy the Eternal city 24 hours a day. Acts as a Roman and live by nighttime. Restaurants are open until 1 am; Bars with their outdoors serve gelato, granite and drinks almost until dawn. You can walk along the banks of Isola Tiberina waiting for the rising sun. And starting May 2nd you can also experience a special visit of the symbol of the Eternal city: the Archaeological Heritage of Rome Organisation offers on Thursday and Saturday nights (until OCtober 3) "The moon on the Coliseum: night tours of the Flavian Amphitheatre." The visit, which lasts 75 minutes, is organized in groups led by an expert and will show you the arena floors, the underground tunnels where gladiators and wild animals waited before appearing in front of the public, the technical apparatus lifting humans and animals from the underground arena.
The tour includes also the exhibition Constantine 313 d. c celebrating the anniversary of the manifesto of religious tolerance also known as the "Edict of Milan", with a particular view of Rome at the time of this Emperor. The tour continues under the moonlight to the top of the monument overlooking the entire auditorium and ends on the lookout Valadier with a spectacular view of the Arch of Constantine and the slopes of the Palatine.
