ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: Sunday Frankfurt Arrival at Frankfurt airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure. Frankfurt is the financial and commercial heart of Germany, a city full of fascinating contrasts between modern development and historic landmarks. At 7 pm you will meet your guide at the welcomedinner at the hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel Mövenpick Frankfurt City****.
  • DAY 2: MMonday Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Freiburg In the morning we travel from Frankfurt to Heidelberg. Visit the famous castle and enjoy a sightseeing tour of its historic city center. Idyllically located on the shores of the Neckar River, Heidelberg is Germanysn oldest university town and one of the most popular destinations in the country. Our next stop is Freiburg. Accommodation at the Hotel Rheingold****.
  • DAY 3: Tuesday Freiburg - Lake Titi - Lindau - Füssen After breakfast we enjoy a sightseeing tour of lovely Freiburg. Next we travel to Lake Titi, nestled in the legendary Black Forest. We will have the full Black Forest experience: Make your own Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte and savor it afterwards with a cup of coffee and gaze at a short presentation on the cuckoo clock production. We continue the tour to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance, which boasts spectacular views of the Alps. Our final destination is Füssen, the southernmost point on our tour of Romantic Germany. Accommodation at the Hotel Hirsch****.
  • DAY 4: Wednesday Neuschwanstein  Wieskirche - Oberammergau - Ettal - Garmisch-Partenkirchen We begin the day with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II, the notorious Mad King. In the afternoon we travel to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play and lovely crafts. Along the way we visit the Wieskirche Church before continuing the tour to the Ettal Benedictine Abbey. Taste the delicious cheese on a visit to the local cheese factory. Todays final destination is Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germanys winter sports capital and site of the 1936 winter Olympics. Accommodation at the Rheinischer Hof****.
  • DAY 5: Thursday Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Innsbruck - Linderhof - Munich In the morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Innsbruck in Austria. As an alternative excursion you may also ascend to the top of Zugspitze (instead of Innsbruck, not included). In the afternoon we travel to Munich and visit Linderhof Castle. This is one of the 3 castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one where the king actually lived for a significant amount of time. Accommodation at Eden Hotel Wolff****.
  • DAY 6: Friday Munich After breakfast we visit the citys main attractions, concluding the tour at the Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower. The capital of Bavaria state, Munich, is famous for its Oktoberfest, which is annually celebrated in September. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure. In the evening you enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner. Accommodation at Eden Hotel Wolff****.
  • DAY 7: Saturday Munich - Zurich Breakfast at the hotel. Around noon transfer to the train station. Travel by train from Munich to Zurich. Upon arrival in Zurich transfer to your hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel Swissôtel Zürich****.
  • DAY 8: Sunday Zurich Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zurich and its main monuments. Take in fabulous views of the Alps and Lake Zurich from the Höhenstrasse. We will stop briefly in Rapperswil, the quaint City of Roses. On our way back to Zurich you enjoy a lovely cruise on Lake Zurich (no guide). Arrival at Zürich-Bürkliplatz. Make your own way back to the hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel Swissôtel Zürich****.
  • DAY 9: Monday Zurich - Luzern - Mount Titlis - Interlaken Departure for Luzern. Short sightseeing tour and free time to explore on your own. At noon we continue to Engelberg. Take the rotating Rotair cable car to the top of Mount Titlis and its spectacular glacier. From an elevation of 3.020 m, visitors enjoy spectacular views of the Central Alps. In the afternoon we continue to Brienz and visit the local wood carvers. Our next destination is Interlaken at the foot of Mount Jungfrau. Accommodation at the Hotel Royal St. Georges****.
  • DAY 10: Tuesday Interlaken - Bern - Gruyeres - Geneva From Interlaken we drive along Lake Thun to Bern. After a sightseeing tour of the city, we continue to Gruyeres, a picturesque village with its impressive medieval castle. Accommodation at the Hotel Ramada Encore***.
  • DAY 11: Wednesday Geneva - Montreux - Zermatt Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Geneva and visit the beautiful parks along the lake, the cathedral and the European headquarters of the UN. Then we travel to Lausanne and Montreux, passing the magnificent Chillon Castle. Free time to explore Montreux. In the afternoon we travel up the Rodano river valley as far as Täsch. From here you continue by narrow gauge train to Zermatt, nestled at the foot of mighty Mount Matterhorn. Dinner and accommodation at the Hotel Alex****.
  • DAY 12: Thursday Zermatt - Nufenen Pass  Lugano In the morning you are free to explore at your leisure or undertake an optional excursion to the top of Mount Gornegrat (not included). In the afternoon you return to Täsch where you board the bus for a spectacular drive over the high Nufenen mountain pass to Lugano. Accommodation at the Grand Hotel Eden***.
  • DAY 13: Friday Lugano - Lake Como - St. Moritz In the morning we travel to Italy to visit magnificent Lake Como. Travel along the shore of the lake via Menaggio to Chiavenna in the Beggaglia valley. In Castasegna we cross back into Switzerland and complete todays tour in the ski resort of St. Moritz. Dinner and accommodation at the Hotel Schweizerhof****.
  • DAY 14: Saturday St. Moritz - Vaduz - Zurich In the morning we travel via Fluela and Davos to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. Free time to explore this charming city. In the afternoon we continue to Zurich via the Toggenburg region, famous for its picturesque houses. Arrival at Zurich central station or the Swissôtel around 5 pm. End of tour program
