  • DAY 1: Depart for Spain. Overnight on your intercontinental flight
  • DAY 2: Arrival to Madrid airport, pick up your car and depart to Burgos. (2hrs 30) If time allows, we suggest a short stop for a walk in LERMA and its XVII century main square. Overnight at hotel
  • DAY 3: BURGOS- After Breakfast we suggest a stroll in this well preserved middle age town and a visit to the cathedral, maybe the best gothic building in Spain. Enjoy afternoon excursion to COVARRUBIAS (a nice village, with middle age atmosphere streets). Visit the Monastery SANTO DOMINGO SILOS one of the few places in the world where you can listen and watch the mass in Gregorian rite, a must for classic music lovers Return to the hotel and overnight
  • DAY 4: BURGOS - LOGROÑO- After Breakfast departure for Logrono. On your way stop in S. DOMINGO CALZADA an Important city on the St James Pathway with a XII-XVII century cathedral worth a visit. In S. MILLAN COGOLLA - considered the birthplace of Spanish language- you will admire the splendid monastery. Then drive on to NAJERA- XVI Spain capital of a middle age kingdom. Overnight at hotel in Logrono
  • DAY 5: LOGROÑO-After Breakfast you will discover the world of the Rioja wine. In the morning you will visit the area called 'high Rioja' and main village: HARO and its wine museum. In LAGUARDIA, you can visit Villa Lucia complex dedicated to wine. In the afternoon, go to LABASTIDA, little village which whole economy are in relation with Rioja wine. Overnight in Logrono
  • DAY 6: LOGROÑO/ ALCALA HENARES- After breakfast it is time to depart. On your way you can stop at CALATAÑAZOR a village famous for an important Christians vs Arabs battle, almost unpopulated presently. Then on to BURGOS DE OSMA know for it important cathedral and old historical quarter, taking time for a walk. Three miles before the arrival at Alcala you will see the impressive shape of huge defensive castle of GORMAZ (one of the largest in Europe inside there is an almost empty little village. BERLANGA DUERO is another nice village worth a stopover. Visit then the Romanic cathedral, old university and several old palaces will be a good reason to stop for a walk around SIGUENZA. On the top of the hill the sensational XII century castle has been transformed in a Parador. Then overnight at the hotel in Alcala Henares.
  • DAY 7: ALCALA HENARES MADRID- Breakfast. Alcala de Henares is the city where Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote was born. You may visit Cervantes house and the University. Then drive to Madrid airport only 20 minutes away or extend your stay 2 overnights in Madrid. (supplement applies)
